What Would We Do Without Unwed Mothers?
Teenagers no longer have a corner on the new baby market. In 2004 only 24% of unwed births were by teens. People are not getting married like they did in the good old days. They live together, have children, go to Little League and soccer games, and visit Disney World. It seems to me that unwed births are very important to our economy. More than one-third of all births are by unwed mothers. According to NCHS, there were 1,470,152 such births in 2004. At away, Girls! Buy those diapers and rompers! As a public service, I would like to give the names of those 1,470,152 newborn girls and boys. The girls are: Jessica, Britney, Jenna, Carman, Pamela, Shirley, Katrina, Hilary, Rita, Jennifer, Wilma, Angelina, Kelly, Mariah, Ashlee, Pam, Briana, Tera, Janet, Brooke, Eva, Jenny, Madonna, Katie, Tara, Nelly, Kanya, Traci, Gwen, Cameron, Stephanie, Ciara, Alyssa, Manga, Britney, Hillary, Tyra, Marilyn, Krystal and Heidi. The boys are Sean, Shaun, Bart, Cody, Jesse, Chad, Brian, Tom, George, and Bruce. Chad is poplular in Arizona and up here in Idaho (I dee ho). I don?t think I left anyone out. It seems that fewer baby-having-women are married and under 20 years old. The birthrate is dropping for teens. Go kids! Older women are having more babies. Gitchee, Gitchee, Goo! After years in the workplace they are saying, ?Hey! We don?t have any kids! Who will we leave all this loot too, the Salvation Army?? Actually, that is not a bad idea. The Army does have a good reputation. These workplace folks are saying, ?Who will look after us in our old age?? They are having babies. (MAYBE some will look after them. Any bets?)
